Notes for Annie

Annie Mae, I appreciate your kindness so much. You truly see people and always treat them well–I felt this even as a staff member and I appreciate that so much! Thanks for the ways you have loved our community. You will be missed!

Annie Mae,
I have absolutely loved getting to know you in your time at King’s and in particular this year as you’ve served as President of Thatcher. Thank you for always bringing a wise, thoughtful, positive perspective to meetings and to the House. I am so proud of the work you have done! So grateful for you! Congrats!

Also . . . avoid jail if at all possible (prison too). And I found a photo of mine from Israel and Scotland!

Congrats Annie Mae! Have loved getting to work with you and have your around admissions! Your uplifting spirit always makes me smile.

You’ll be missed!

It is a joy to know you and call you friend, Annie Mae. You are a woman worthy of emulating–strong, fun, godly, curious, and beautiful inside and out. I will dearly miss your exuberant spirit and precious smile at King’s, but I am so excited for this new season and know that Jesus will continue to do amazing things in and through you! I’m so, so proud of you and love you very much–GO CELEBRATE!

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matt. 6:33)

P.S. Here’s one of my fav pics of us in Israel. Best Passages Fellow, hands down. I’m still dreaming of ways to get another olive oil face scrub!

I am beyond proud of you! Gonna miss living a few floors apart, but I’m so excited to see what God is going to do in this next chapter of your life. Love you hunny bunny xxx

Thank you for the joy you always brought to campus! Congratulations on this huge accomplishment!

Annie Mae,
First of all, my parents love you ever since you gave them a tour of Albee. (My mom even bought the book you recommended on your blog!) They give their best wishes to you.
I’ve never been more grateful for a community of girls than I have with Thatcher. Thanks for making it a welcoming and loving experience. I also need to thank you for giving me advice guidance during my difficult experience in the first semester. I’m truly going to miss you and I love you lots!

Annie Mae,

Congratulations! You are a unique individual in the best possible way: smart yet compassionate, curious yet capable. I really enjoyed having you in my classes and I’m sad to see you go! All the best for what lies ahead.

Congratulations, Annie Mae! I’ll never forget the day we met in the Student Union–I’m very glad that we decided to become friends. Even when the weight of the world seems heavy, don’t ever lose your joy! You are a blessing to those around you.

From talking on your bed for hours freshman year to watching you lead our House with grace and conviction, it’s been a joy to see you grow and share your love for truth with the people around you. Iron love always!

You were so incredibly kind to me whenever I visited. You have this spark and passion to you that is incredibly inspiring. You are a huge reason as to why I am attending in the fall!

Annie Mae, I feel so privileged that I met you at NSO. I thought that you were sweet and kind and beautiful then, and I think all those things and more now. You make everything and anything memorable and celebratory. You are also intelligent, thoughtful, and wise. You have the most energy in the room and also the most compassion. I don’t know how you do everything that you do, and combine so many different talents and gifts! When I think of you, I think of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, movies at Clark, taking pictures, the Plaza, long letters, popcorn and MnM’s, the color purple, Seal Beach California, birthday breakfasts in 1407, Lincoln Center, giraffes at Disney World, picnics in Brooklyn, Bryant Park hot chocolate, (so much more), and a beautiful heart for God. I LOVE YOU!

My fellow RTS QUEEN! I am so so so proud of you!! I will forever cherish our early morning coffees. You ARE going to do BIG things! Keep seeking out God’s plan for your life.

Love, Toria

Annie Mae,

I’m so glad that you asked me if I’d ever gotten my heart broken on our way to Thatcher retreat and that we ended up sharing a bed. I can’t believe our year of serving Thatcher together is over, but I’m so excited that you’re staying close by and that our time together in New York will continue. Thanks for your encouragement and guidance. I can’t wait to see you do your weird dance again soon! Love you so much!

Rach

Annie Mae, you are the sweetest person that I know! Congratulations on all of your accomplishments and words cannot even begin to describe how proud I am of you. I love this picture of us when I was moving in as a freshman. I am so glad that I have gotten to know you since then. Love you girl! I can’t wait to see you keep shining in the future 💞💚

You will always be one of my favorite people. You don’t know this … but a lot of times that I make a decision I first think “WWJD” and then “WWAMJD” (what would Annie-Mae Jones do)? I love you so much and I can’t wait for our friendship to blossom even after your TKC journey is over. Love you so big!

What can I even SAY? Annie Mae you’re so special and everyone knows it. You love God, love people, and love love in such an inspiring way. You have such a servant’s heart and it is so evident that you are constantly striving to grow in your walk with the Lord. I remember having conversations with you my first year and just thinking WOW, God is so present in her life. You truly helped me to feel safe and at home at King’s in profound ways. You’ve been a gift to King’s, to Thatcher and to me and I know have ENORMOUS shoes to fill as incoming Thatcher president. Thanks for being the light you are, Annie Mae–NEVER CHANGE! You are so loved and celebrated and there will be an AMJ sized whole at King’s next year </3.

You were the first person I met from King’s via FaceTime on Jackson’s phone. You have been such a kind friend and I cherish all of our Summer Academy memories. I wish we could do it again! I love you forever and please come visit at Albee next year!!!

Annie Mae!! From the moment I met you at the Summer Academy last year I knew you were someone I would be able to trust. Thank you so much for patiently answering my endless questions about NYC and sitting down to eat lunch with me. I miss your bright smile and kind heart so much! Thank you for showing me that King’s is everything I have dreamed of and more.

Future roommate? Dear friend? Annie Mae!! I am so happy that we have gotten to know one another better these past couple of months and I cannot wait to have sleepovers with you every night starting on Friday! You’re such a southern sweetheart and our little bible study phone calls are life-giving to me in quarantine. I hope you know how special and dearly loved you are, sweet friend.

Annie Mae,

My adopted big, I love you so much! I am so proud of you for all you’ve accomplished in your time at King’s, and how you pour so intentionally into every single thing you do. Your love for the Lord and for others is so inspiring. I cannot wait to see all the places you’ll go or to cook so many more meals with you. Love you!

I’m forever grateful for King’s because it’s where I met you!! There are few friends who have weathered life with me like you have. You’ve worked so hard academically, professionally, and relationally the last 4 years and changed lives because of it. You’ve inspired every person who has met you, no doubt. Take a moment to really enjoy what you’ve experienced. You’ve earned every piece of that diploma!! The best part is the things that matter most don’t end with commencement. Your whole squad is still here. I love you forever 💕

Annie Mae!! Just one year ago, I just knew you as a girl who was going to be our next president. Now, I know you as a fantastic role model and such a loving girl. I am so thankful to know you! You always brought so much positivity and fun to the team. I can’t wait to hang out with you more when I get back to the city (and introduce you to more Disney movies!). As Frozen II says, “Some things never change,” and I hope you never change your amazing positivity and light.

Annie,

I’ve enjoyed sharing classrooms with you and watching you working for your House and for the Council. Your presence is a welcome one everywhere you go, and your hard and work on behalf of and dedication to your House and your school is admirable. Go do great things!!

Eddie VanZandt

Annie Mae!! You truly are an extraordinary person. God has given you so many amazing gifts and you were a massive blessing to the entire college. I’m so thankful to God the He led you to us. Your presence on campus next year is going to be felt deeply. Blessings!

Four years later, and I don’t think we took NYC by sweet-tea storm, but you’ve definitely made the most of these years! You were one of the first friends I met at The King’s College, and I’m so excited to see how God is going to use you.

Congratulations Annie! You are such a Joy and Blessing to all that know you! I am so proud of you and wish you all the best. I have no doubt that God has an incredible plan for your life. Always remember that He has you in the palm of His hand. I will miss you.

God bless you and now it’s time to celebrate!!!

Congratulations Annie Mae! Celebrating you and all your hard work!

It’s been such a joy to have you as part of Apostles Church. Thank you for all your encouragement over the years. Excited for you and all that’s ahead of you!

THATS MY LITTLE! Annie Mae Jones is by far the greatest gift the King’s college has ever received! I am privileged to call her my little & dear friend. Congratulations on finishing your four years with grace, excellence, and determination. I am proud of you and inspired by you. And I love you so much!

It has been a joy getting to know you these past 3 years. The trips to Longwood, meals and chats around the table, hearing about your trip to Israel and your visit with Pnina and her family.
We have seen God’s Hand upon you as you have learned to trust Him during your years at Kings.
We look forward to seeing what He has planned for you in the coming years.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
Prov. 31:30-31

To my precious daughter Annie Mae Jones:
Looking back it was a total miracle that you stand ready to graduate – with high honors – from The King’s College. I can remember so well your instant excitement and enthusiasm for TKC when in December 2016 you stumbled across that random info email from the school. From that very moment you had your heart set on attending TKC. I also remember the night of our family conference call with the school when we realized your dream was going to happen. I wish people knew the bravery it took for a girl from a very small rural NW TN town and from a sheltered environment to up and move not just away for college but to the FiDi in NYC of all places! And your 4 years at TKC flew by so fast. Many great times and memories during it all. Congratulations on your graduation!

Annie,
It was wonderful to have you as a student in PWS class this spring. I greatly appreciate your insights and questions. Your commitment to Christ was evident to me and others in the class. Thank you for being an excellent student and an excellent example to those around you. And keep writing. You will go far! Ps. 90:12 “Oh Lord. Teach us to number our days so that we may present to thee, a heart of wisdom.” Best Wishes, Prof. Glader

You’re so cool, Annie Mae!! I’m so glad I got the chance to have class with you, especially the ones that we did (hahaha). Congratulations on graduating!!!! So excited you’re joining us on the alumni side. 🙂

Annie Mae, It has been such joy to get to know you in BusComm this last year. You are incredibly talented and so genuine — you bring a lot of joy and encouragement to everyone around you. I can’t wait to see what you do next!

Annie Mae!!! Thanks for being the absolute BEST passages leader ever. Congrats on graduating and best of luck. I know you’ve got amazing things ahead of you!

Annie Mae,

The last time we talked, I was so hopeful that we would all be able to celebrate in person today. Not so, but know that we are thinking of you and celebrating your life and accomplishments today from afar!

Our prayers go with you as you set out on the next path God has set before you. You are a light that shines brightly!

Annie Mae,

Congrats!! I am so thankful that I met you way back at my Inviso, and even more thankful for how kind to me you were, making the decision to come to King’s that much easier. I am so thankful we finally go to know each other this year! If only there had been more time. I cannot wait to see where you go in life(:

Best,
Serena

Annie Mae – if we had had more times to cross paths, I have no doubt we would have worked together on some cool things because of your heart for worship and making spaces for people to experience God.

I wish you the best as you do good work at home and worldwide!

Annie Mae, Congratulations! It has been a joy to work with you this year. You are so well-spoken, thoughtful, and wise!

Annie Mae, you are a radiant soul! I wish I got to know you more, but I want to say thanks for all of your encouragement during Bus Com. You are so sweet and I know that God will bless you in all your future endeavors.

Annie Mae! Congrats friend! I so loved getting to know you during your time in admissions last summer – you are such a kindred spirit. I loved seeing your heart for Him and for others. Continue the good work of loving with abandon and pursuing truth and light. I can’t wait to see where He leads you next. Thankful to know you!

Annie Mae—you were such a joy to befriend this year! Your tenderness, humor, spunk, & joy were beautiful to see her first hand. Thanks for being a fabulous roommate and plant mom! I miss you lots and am so thankful my housing road led to you! You were my first assurance that it’d all work out because your character went before you and I knew, although I didn’t KNOW you that you were genuine and kind. It was also YOUR pushing that led me into my final housing at Kings which has been my biggest blessing. Thank you for pushing me to trust God and give my worries to Him. I love you sweet friend and hope for more nights watering plants and talking about our Daniels 😉

Annie Mae!!! CONGRATULATIONS! I really admire the hard work you put into your time at King’s and the passion that your have for those around you. I am so grateful to have such a beautiful and smarty-pants friend. Can’t wait to yoga with you as soon as we possibly can! 🙂

Aye Mae Mae. Aye Mae Mae. Annie Mae Jones! From freshman year to now you have always been a joy to see in the hallway, at Clark, or wherever you are. You are such a joy to everyone you come in contact with and you are such an amazing person. Please take care of Dan! You are gonna do such great things and tell so many people about Christ just by living your life how you always do. Stay in touch!

Annie Mae,
Parker and I wanted you to know how God used you to guide him towards a path the He had planned for Parker. The impromptu “drop-in” we made to The King’s College lobby last summer led us to you where we both felt God in your presence and in your voice. The prayer you prayed with Parker has driven him this past year to follow what he believes is God’s plan for him and King’s is where he is suppose to be. Thank you for being, literally, an Angel that day and allowing God to work through you. Parker will take your place in the fall as a new student. You will always be remembered and prayed for by Parker and me. The future holds great things for you. This is evident in your actions and love for Christ. Let Him always use you for His greatness because that is one of your true gifts. Thanks again for being you! I wish we had the opportunity to know your wonderful self. Enjoy your privilege to serve Him.
