Notes for Benjamin

Ben, it’s been a while since our one class together, but we quote your character all the time in our house, “Why yes, …” Peace to you.

Congratulations, Ben! I cannot believe you and 1407 are graduating. It seems like you all just got here yesterday. I’ll miss you around campus and all the times you just dropped by me and Josh’s offices. May God Bless you, good sir.

My gosh, Ben Cook. It’s been quite a ride, my friend. May the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. Congratulations!

Ben, who will occupy my office now that you are gone?

Your knowledge of the intersection of dank memes and high-risk investments is second-to-none. I will miss all the times you made me lose it in my office with your wit and subculture awareness.

Keep in touch. I know you’re going to rise up one of these days, and it’s going to be oh so epic.

Ben! Thank you for putting up with me as my FA this semester. I am so proud of all of the hard work you have accomplished and cannot wait to see where life takes you. May God bless you always and I look forward to celebrating on Saturday!

Ben, thank you for being the one finance major in so many MCA activities. I will never forget the time you did a knee slide in studio and your stock reports in Acting. Thanks for making me laugh and for being so kind! You’re going to CRUSH it in the post grad world!

Ben you are one of the smartest and most humble people I know! I am amazed by how talented you are and how kindly you treat people. I will always treasure all the memories together in 1407, especially studying with you and Dan. Wishing you all the best! I can’t wait to see everything you accomplish!

Congratulations Ben, and thank you for being such a kind and supportive person. You’ve really made classes easier. Thank you.

Ben, congratulations!!! I’ll always remember how you led our Capsim team to victory junior year. Thanks for always being a calm voice of reason and expertise in business classes!

Congratulations, Ben!! You’re graduating as a King’s Renaissance man. From Cap Sim to Spelling Bee, you’ve done it all — and excelled in every aspect. It’s been such a pleasure getting to know you / cheer you on from the audience and I will certainly keep cheering you on in real life. Wishing you all the best!

It has been an utter joy working with you as an actor and a keyboard player, and having you in two of my classes. You are a basketful of delightful surprises, not only in the area of your enormous talent, but in your willingness to serve on even the most menial tasks without complaint. Thank you for all you gave to every project, and the enthusiasm you brought to every class. I will miss you!

Ben,

Congratulations! I’m sure today will be only the first of many proud, successful moments for you. Your roomate, who just happens to be my son, respects you to the moon and back. Keep adding to the goodness and beauty that the world needs all the while standing for the Truth. Keep developing those unique dreams and talents that make you who you are!

God bless you

Ps 37:18

Ben! I don’t really know where to start. It’s been so fun to be your friend over the years. From 1407 to 25C, I’ve gotten the privilege of watching you and Daniel play Rocket League and occasionally stealing your Dr. Peppers and biscuits. Also! You helped me learn how to sing. Can’t say thanks enough for all that blood sweat and tears.

Seriously, I will miss all the memories we’ve had and I’m just so glad that Daniel has had a roommate for the past 2 years that I genuinely love hanging out with. He’s gonna miss you and I am too. We’ll always be a squad. Don’t forget about us when you’re a billionaire please.

Our grad party this weekend is gonna be HYPE.

Ben! I’m glad you braved the MCA theater culture—you brought some mad musical chops, acting skills, and laughs to the projects you worked on. (Thanks for being a trooper during Magic Foot and embracing my not-always-clear attempts at choreography!) I know you’ll be as great an addition to the finance world as you have been to King’s theater scene!

You are a constant picture of humility and wisdom here at Kings! I didn’t know you well for long but I always saw these attributes in you. Prof. Fotopulos could never stop saying such incredible things about how smart you are and how dedicated you were as her FA. Thank you for serving her so well and our entire community!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

Ben, your calm and cool presence has always been a treat when I walk into a class with you, whether you’re a fellow student or an FA. Also, you’ve got some mad piano skills. Best of luck after college!

Ben, I will miss our talks. In class, you were gracious and focused. Out of class, you are funny, nice, respectful, I could on. The bottom line is that you have touched my life and I am glad that I got to know you… Congratulations again.

Benjamin,

I am so thankful! God has been so faithful in directing your steps and providing for the desires of your heart. I remember the prayers prayed for you as you sought out a place for learning and adventure in NYC. If I made a list of the many ways your time at King’s was an answer to these prayers, it would be a long one. Never forget His goodness in the gift of these four years!

It has been a great pleasure watching you along the way. I am thankful I could share in some of these experiences like watching plays and musicals and taking walks in the city during visits (and joining you in your walks over the phone.) Thank you for sharing so much of your life with us from afar.

I am very proud of you! You have been a good steward of the gifts that God has given you. You are wise and kind. You are a man of integrity and have challenged me in ways that have made me a better person.

I look forward to seeing what God has for you going forward. I am so thankful you are my son!

“Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33

Love,
Mom

BEN COOK!!!
Congratulations! I have loved hanging out during all The King’s Players events and its been a joy to work with you. One day soon we’re gonna write that musical!

Ben! So unassuming, but so wickedly funny. I’m glad I got to know you more during our strange acting class this year. Take the finance world by storm, but take a moment to remember your theater kids. All the best!

Ben, the greatest center The King’s College has ever seen. You have done so much for the college and so much more for our class. I have loved getting to know you over these four years and I know you are going to do amazing things. Please keep in touch. I hope who ever you draft with the number one pick’s knee explodes (unless it’s Saquan).
