Notes for Hank

What is this place gonna be without you? I remember you telling me during your freshmen year that you were transferring. I was so disappointed! But look at what happened–instead you became a huge part of our community. We are so grateful for you. Well done and congratulations!

Dearest Hank, thank you for being a sweet extended part of our family, and thank you for your great big heart. I pray you will continue to seek God’s best as you adventure into the future. And know that our home is always available to you along the way.

Hank! Congratulations and welcome to the brotherhood of the Churchill alumni. I’ll miss your kind spirit and encouragement to me and the other Student Development staff. Thanks for seeing us. You better become involved with the Churchill alumni association so we can still see each other. May God bless you, good sir.

Hank! There are so many things I could say but just know how incredibly proud I am of you and all that you’ve accomplished and overcome in your time at King’s. I will miss you greatly!

Hank, I will miss seeing you in the hallways and saying “Hank! What are you doing here?!” Well, now you really have graduated, and that makes me happy for you and sad for us. Best wishes!

Hank! Congratulations. I love that we are here celebrating your graduation. You did it, and you’re awesome. That’s all there is to say. But also, very well done.

Hank,

Congratulations! This is a huge milestone, and the first of many to come, I’m sure. You’re a wonderful student and I thoroughly enjoyed having you in my classes this past year. Keep in touch!

Hank! I’m so grateful to have gotten to know you and be your teammate last year. I’m sure God’s got great things ahead for you. Congratulations!!

My partner in crime, speechwriter, life coach, and “that guy who’s with Interregnum”. You make the kingdom of God real.

What will I do without you on campus? I will miss hearing your laughter (a very distinct sound) and instantly knowing you are at school. You are brilliant, kind, and I am so happy we were friends for that one year.

Paul Henri Jeannel,

I will miss hearing your laugh (from a floor below) and knowing that you are on campus. What will The King’s College look like without you? I am not excited to find out. You are a brilliant individual and I can’t wait to look you up in ten years and see what you’re up to.

I don’t know how to express how incredibly proud I am of you Hank! Thank you to all of the incredible individuals at King’s who have supported and encouraged you along the way. You are an incredible human and I am beyond blessed to call you my son! I know God has an amazing plan for your life and I look forward to watching you grow and become all you dream to be! I love you! Mom

Ummm how can you just KEEP growing as a theologian? When are you going to “peak”? 🙂

What a treasured conversation partner and colleague you are. I take no credit for who you have become, but I do take credit for seeing your magic. Love to you and congratulations. This is such an accomplishment.

PS: I did a quick archive search and found this weirdly cropped picture of you. I don’t remember but I believe I super imposed it onto a face of CS Lewis for some reason in a live session. Obviously I had to share it here.

Hank you will always be my favorite. Congrats on graduating – I can’t wait to see where you go!

Hank, you were one of my favorite parts of King’s and I’m really glad I get to graduate with you. I’m also SO glad that we got to experience the Israel trip together! In all parts of the world, I appreciate your wisdom, thoughtfulness, and your ability to synthesize and apply ideas. You are one of the smartest people I have ever met. Many times your kindness and encouragement to me were exactly what I needed. And of course, you are my Interregnum king.

Hank! Congrats! It was so fun getting to know you as Audrey trolled you in Israel. 😉 I’m glad she did. You’re such a cool, smart, and hilarious person, I know you’ll go far!

Hank, you’re a really great guy! I’ve enjoyed getting to know you these past four years, and I’m excited to see what God has in store for you! I’m going to miss seeing you regularly. You never failed to make me smile!

Hank!

You are one of the kindest and most genuine people I have ever met. Congratulations on graduating. I know you will find great success and happiness in life!!

I love and miss you!

Hank, when you talk theology, politics, and philosophy, I listen intently. You are incredibly smart and I admire your wisdom and discernment. I am so blessed to have gotten to go to Israel with you. Lets stay in touch for years to come!

Congratulations Hank! We are so very proud of you! Best wishes in your next adventure!

im so proud of you in all that you have acomplished so far keep it up
cousin chris

Hank. There’s a Polaroid of you on my wall lol. You are so genuine, kind, funny, and you’ve made me feel so loved and welcome at King’s. Your eye rolls keep me going! Congrats (:

From the moment I looked into your beautiful eyes as a newborn, I somehow knew this moment would live. You gifted your calling, you heard the Voice, you walked the path. I am so honored to be your very blessed grandmother. Loving you!

Remember me from PBI? We sat next to each other and had a great time. Wishing you the best and can’t wait to be invited to your book launch!

You are by far one of the most thoughtful people I have ever met. Your concern for wisdom and asking the right questions has encouraged me to do the same. So proud that I can call you a fellow Churchill and a friend. Take it easy my man!

People like you make the world a better place. Let’s please stay friends please!! Teach me more theology in future years.

Hank, you really do make us laugh! Always smiling, always cracking jokes. Always finding humor even in the midst of crazy times. But you’re even so much more than that! You are incredibly smart and dedicated. You served continuously in so many ways. I’m so glad we had the chance to work together! You will be so missed!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

Hank, I will never forget that Brooklyn summer we lived together. We had REAL conversations, you introduced me to Rachel Lindsay’s season of the Bachelorette, and you showed me how to be a better friend. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Congratulations on completing King’s! xxAngel

Hank!!! You’re such an incredible person and have been one of the best classmates to have. Congrats on graduating and please stay in touch!

Hank,

Thanks for all the laughs and for being one of my first friends at King’s, always hanging out with me at the library table when I was a nerdy freshman(; I cannot see where you go next! Congrats!!

Best,
Serena

Hank congratulations it’s not an easy feat but you did it!! So very proud of you!
Aunt Cathy!

Hank, half of the things you say go over my head, but what I do understand is always intelligent and thoughtful. Congrats!

To my actual big brother: thank you for adopting me and helping me learn how to write for PBI! I miss hearing you planning something with Elle and Damaris in our apartment living room and getting lunch with you. I can’t wait to watch you get into the grad school of your dreams and be the best scholar anyone could hope to meet.

Dear Hank,

Now I will really miss your beautiful spirit around campus! You are a wonderful and graceful leader. May you know all of God’s richest blessings in Christ.
