Notes for Morgan

What a whirlwind this year has been but thanks for trusting me through the many changes! I will miss our conversations while cleaning the SU.

From traveling to Pennsylvania with you to our Zoom meetings, I’ve had a blast. You were the best Managing Editor an Editor-in-Chief could ask for and of course, an even better friend. I will miss seeing you on campus but I know I will see you soon! So proud of you.

Hey, what’s up?

You’ve accomplished so many wonderful things at King’s, and the journalism world is better off with you in it. You’re a great writer, editor, and friend. I’m excited to read your bylines. Visit soon.

Morgan!! Congrats! You are one of the sweetest people! I always loved when we would bump into each other in the EST office!! Can’t wait to see what you do next!

Dear Morgan; so proud of you and all you have accomplished in the last 4 years. You’re going to do big things. Your humor brought joy to many throughout campus and our house. Thank you for being such a consistent friend. Love you!

Morgan, you truly are a gem – from all our classes together to that night clubbing freshman year, I have loved every minute I’ve spent with you. You are such a talent journalist and I am so excited to see your name in the Times one day

Morgan,

You’re one of the best people that I know and easily one of the best journalists that I know. I’ll miss trying to make you laugh with inappropriate jokes and cat memes in Visual Journalism. Don’t disappear on me!!

Rachel

MORGAN! I’m so proud of you and everything you’ve accomplished at TKC and beyond! You’re such an amazing person and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for you

Morgan, sometimes I wish we could go back to freshman year and those walks by the Hudson. You’ve been an amazing friend for these few years of college. Congrats on graduating and can’t wait to see what’s next for you!

Congratulations brother! I hope you take time amidst the craziness to take a moment to appreciate all your hard work paying off for this amazing moment. You are on to incredible things!!

Morgan, thank you for being my very first roommate and a true friend all the way through.

I’ll always remember how your creativity and talent led QE1 to victory in our junior year Creative Writing Competition, our photography adventure in Morningside Park, and our chats about the future at little coffee shops in Brooklyn Heights.

You’re going to kill it out in the great big world. Love you!

King’s is losing the biggest dog on campus this year! Becoming your friend this past year has been one of the best things to happen to me.

You’re the most hardworking and talented journalist I know, the nicest person, and the coolest bro. I wouldn’t want anybody else to guide me to Niagara.

I’d post the picture of you and Manny to truly celebrate, but I’ll have to settle for the 2nd best baby. Love you, dude!

You are so awesome! You’re one of my earliest friends from King’s, and I always enjoyed running into you in the hallways and catching up. You’re so much fun, and you make me laugh! HAGS!

Morgan!! I’ve said it already and I’ll say it again – congratulations on being the first in your family to graduate from college. I am so proud of you and am so excited to see where life takes you. All of the times we have hung out have been filled with good conversation and laughter. You are a great friend and I look forward to more memories with you soon. Love you!

Morgan,

You were the first person I met from the Class of 2020, and I’m so glad that we stayed friends through college. It’s been an honor to watch your budding journalistic career; the world is not ready to be reported on so well. I wish you the best of luck, wherever life takes you. Stay in touch!!

Eddie VanZandt

I’ve never met anyone like you, Morgan! I think you are amazing and I’ve loved all the time I’ve gotten to spend with you. You are talented, kind, funny, joyful, and genuine. Love you!

Morgan, you are such a light and you have such a bright future ahead of you!! I’m incredibly grateful for our friendship and proud of you beyond words. Congratulations 🥳

Morgan! So fun getting to know you last semester. You’re hilarious, down to earth, and all around a cool gal. Can’t wait to be fellow Poynter-Koch fellows!

Morgan,
I can remember your dad (Chef. Chittum) baby sitting his little girl in the Kitchen before school
opened ..
Morgan , you have gone far .. from this little county of Rockbridge Virginia to the Big Apple right out of high school and now graduating from King College with a
Degree In Journalism .
We are all so proud of your journey .
You have made ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY very proud and your life has just begun. You are going to be travling all over the world, going far in both destination and career!
I know your father is glowing like a candle because of your past and future accomplishments.

Congratulations Morgan! Look forward to seeing what you do next.

My brother, the graduate. You were my first friend in the big city. Together we shared many late nights, endless laughs, and entire pizzas. Being your roommate was some of the most fun I’ve had in college, but being your friend has been one of the greatest joys of my life. I am lucky to be loved by you, and am excited to see where your talents, work ethic, and determination take you because I know it will be far. I’m even luckier to be by your side while you get there.

thank you THANK YOU for the enthusiasm and excitement you brought to QE1! You’re quiet force of joy and humor and I am so happy I was able to know you through our House. Wishing you all the best beyond King’s!

You’re a talented writer with a disarming manner and a keen eye for the quirks of life — it will all serve you well.

Congratulations Morgan! Mia and I want to let you know how happy we are for you as you cross this milestone in your life. What an impression you and your amazing father made on us over four years ago at the Inviso dinner! As with all parents, we arrived with a little concern about the sort of influence a college faculty and staff would have on our son. We wanted to ensure that his education emphasized HOW to think more so than WHAT to think. Meeting you during that weekend highlighted something we had overlooked before–that Eddie’s classmates would have an even bigger influence on his growth during these four years in New York City. Your focus, demeanor and determination shined like a beacon—and made us certain that TKC was going to be a great fit for our young man. And for this reason, we say thank you, and congratulations. We’re so happy for you—and not a bit surprised to see that you’ve made it!

God bless you on the next adventure in your life!

Ms. Chittum congratulations to you my #1 homie wishing you all the best in the next chapter in your life.

Congratulations! So grateful to get to know you through QE1 and EST, and can’t wait to see what you do next.

Morgan! Congrats! Thank you for being such a large part in shaping my freshman experience. Your friendly face and conversation alway made me feel cared for. You are a talented writer and I know you will do great things wherever you find yourself next! <3

Morgan! You are such a queen and I am so proud of all your achievements! Thanks for always calling me “Foxy lady” and for being so excited whenever I wrote a new EST post. May God continue to guide you in this next chapter of your life!

Dear Morgan,
I could not be more proud of you. You worked so hard throughout college, juggling jobs & internships & student leadership & all the other demands of a college student in New York City. I am constantly in awe of how hard you have worked for your accomplishments. You truly are an extremely competent, hardworking, and self-sufficient person. I admire you so much. More that all the impressive internships and now jobs (!!!! so proud !!!) to your name, you’re genuinely a good human. You’re forgiving, patient, kind, loving, and an incredible listener. You’ve loved me through my cookie dough diet to kombucha health-nut stage. You’re my best friend and I’m so thankful to have done college with you. Four apartments of living together, countless wild nights, and even more deep talks later, we’re college graduates. I am so thankful for you and look forward to a forever friendship with you.
