Notes for Patterson

Patterson, my heart is so sad not having you at King’s! I love and respect you so much and you have brought so much to this school. Thanks for the past four years. You are loved–congrats on graduating!

Frieeeend. You are a kind soul and will be greatly missed on campus. Congratulations, Patterson!

Patterson, one of my fondest King’s memories was our drive up to Fall Retreat your freshman year. I’m sure you remember, but for the benefit of those reading:

I backed the Refuge band on electric guitar, and a portion of the band left early on Friday piled into my Scion xB. As we were cruising up I-87 towards Iroquois Springs, police lights started flashing behind me. “Must be trying catch up with someone,” I thought, because I wasn’t speeding, setting good example for all of you, of course.

Well, it turns out the lights were for me. I exited the car, and the officer informed me that one of the tiny lights that illuminates my license plate was out. He took serious interest in me, asking where I worked, for how long, what I did, who was in the car, where we were headed. It took a while, but I didn’t sweat it as it seemed that he wasn’t going to give me a ticket, and he didn’t.

When I got back into the car, you were fuming about the injustice of my too-long traffic stop. You were fresh on campus, and you were basically ready to represent me in court if it came to that. I deeply appreciated your defense and just as much enjoyed all our times to catch up over the years, especially Morning Prayer. Much respect to you, my friend.

Praying for the best for you and Erin and everything to come!

PATTERSON! Congrats congrats congrats! I am so very excited for you. I know the last several weeks have not been what you expected at all, but I really respect the way you’re rolled with the punches and stayed positive through it all. I love the way you lean into the difficulty and ask tough questions of yourself and others rather than shying away. Getting to work with you this spring has been another unexpected blessing that I am so thankful! I selfishly hope we keeping getting these odd times together.

You are such an odd mix of extra and steadfast in the best way. One moment you’re talking in your hilarious heavy NC accent and the next you’ll be neck deep in strategy and enrollment trends. I’m excited to celebrate with you and Erin in the fall! Love you both!

Congratulations, Patterson! It has been such a pleasure getting to know you. Excited for you and this next chapter in your life! God has amazing plans in store for you and I know that wherever He takes you, you will thrive! Wishing you all the best and many blessings in your future endeavors!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

Patterson,

Running into you in the hall always put a smile on my face. You have such a natural gift for putting people at ease and making them laugh. I’m so excited for what the future holds for you. Keep in touch.

Congratulations!

You are loved more than you know. We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see how you are going to change the world!

Way to go Patterson. Congratulations and we love you. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for you!!!!

Patterson,

Congratulations! I am SO proud of you! You poured your heart into every second you had at The King’s College, and you have accomplished so much in the last 4 years. From classes to internships to jobs, you’ve persevered and now you’ve crossed the finish line after years of hard work. You deserve to be celebrated big and I can’t wait to party with you on Saturday! Love you.

FRAAANNNDD!

You are an amazing man, Patterson. I am grateful for our season abroad where I got to know your character, wit, and tender heart. You and Erin are a beautiful representation of holy love. I am so overjoyed and enthusiastic to see your lives together unfold. Keep swirling that glass, no matter how hard I pester you for it. 🙂

Congratulations. Graduating “cum laude” represents another achievement built upon a solid foundation of Jesus Christ, your precious new bride, wonderful parents, genuine friends and so many who love and appreciate you for who you are and not for what you’ve done. Not to ignore hard work, determination and the desire to achieve great things, this is just another marvelous stepping stone into a bright future. We will always cherish the next opportunity to be with Erin and you while anticipating the next exciting news of things to come. We love you and are so proud of you. Another job well done!

CONGRATS PATS!

From being your Inviso Ambassador to starring in a play with you (got to see you and Erin’s love story begin :)), to being a fellow COVID married person, to now as you join the TKC alum crew you have been such an encouragement in my life.

So proud to call you friend!

(you were def my favorite Lewis…until that Keeler kid rolled up :))

Patterson, Congratulations! Julie and I are so proud of you. There are only a few people born to change the world and you are one of them. Your infectious Smile and Personality light up every room you enter. I have always said when I walk out of a room, especially a business meeting, I want people to say “What just happened?”. My father always said to me: “Son, I can teach you a lot of things but the most important is to establish a good name. When people hear your name what is their first thought?” Patterson, you have established a good name. Carry that throughout your life and may you always find favor from man in all your endeavors. The thing we are most proud of though, is your incredible belief in Jesus Christ, God and the Holy Spirit. We love you. Your cousin Sid.

So proud of you Patterson. Not the graduation you were expecting but what a story to tell your children and grand children. Love you and know that you will do great things.

Patterson! You’re such a smart, talented, HILARIOUS, and fun guy – I always love our conversations and I can’t wait to see all you accomplish! Congrats to you and Erin!

You have an amazing heart for both God and people that won’t be tamed, and it’s amazing to see. You’re genuine in your desire for the good of others and it allows people to be themselves around you, even upon their first time meeting you. Honored to know you and excited to see what your future has in store!

Where has time went? It doesnt seem possibly for you to be graduating college. From the little boy running around the family reunions to a young man making a lasting impression on the world. Wow, its amazing to look at all of you accomplishments thus far. This chapter might be closing but we all know you are just beginning your story. I look forward to continue watching you grow and wish you nothing but the best. Congratulations Patterson, you deserve it!

Patterson! My favorite memory of you is sitting on the train next to you and Erin, and talking with you about theater. I think it was after I came to tech rehearsal your Freshman year and gave some feedback to the cast?

But I remember that your eyes lit up when you started talking about theater and that your energy and passion for it was very clear. Whether or not you put that passion into theater, or somewhere else, it is an incredible gift to the world.

Also, you married my girl Erin, so you get some extra points for good taste. 😉

Congratulations on a job well done. Bravo!!

It’s an honor to be part of you & your family’s life. Wishing you & your beautiful wife a happy healthy life. With love.. Dick & Nancy Friedman ( Little clown – little clown…. Ask your folks). ❤️❤️☎️☎️☎️

Congratulations Patterson!!
I can’t believe just a few years ago we were both in high school and King’s was a dream in the works for you. What a pleasure it has been to watch you grow into the King’s community and fulfill your immense potential! Thank you for being a friend during my first year at King’s, looking out for me, and being willing to answer my endless questions. I cannot wait to see where you go from here!!
All the best,
Hannah Hair

Patterson – honestly man what do I say about such an amazing guy that hasn’t been said already? Your enthusiasm and drive lift up everyone around you. I expect amazing things from you and have no doubt that you’ll deliver. Can I use you as a reference when you make it big? Haha – kinda kidding/kinda not……..
Stay in touch and blessings to you and your family and your marriage and life. Congrats on a job well done man.

Patterson,

I AM SOOOOOOO EXCITED FOR YOU! (Imagine my face with a huge smile!). I am so grateful that I am not shy when it comes to inviting myself to share your joy and accomplishments! From your Eagle ceremony to your performances in high school to visiting you when we came to NYC for Ben’s work. I am so proud of you and excited for you and Erin! Praying Psalm 112 over you.

You are so wonderful- and your wife as well! I am so happy for you guys and I hope you know how much I have enjoyed getting to know you in our time at King’s. You are a bright and kind soul, I can’t wait to see where you end up. Stay in touch! Congrats!

Patterson, you are truly an exceptional young man. So talented and smart! But above all, loves God first. You purposefully and prayerfully went to Kings and did wonderful things! And so much you and Erin have to look forward to even amidst these current times! Love you and super proud of you!!

Patterson,

What an absolute JOY to get to know you over the past three years. I am continually inspired by your dedication and love for both King’s and the people in your life. Thanks for always making me feel heard and believing in my public speaking even when I didn’t. I really can’t say enough good things about you. Wishing you & Erin all the best beyond King’s!

Patterson! I’m glad we got to experience many MCA classes together. You’re so personable and chill, and I’ve always appreciated your sense of humor and kindness. Hope to stay in touch and can’t wait to see where life takes you!

Goodness gracious!! You are just one of the best people there is! So thankful to know you and call you friend. You are going to do incredible things. I wish you nothing but the best!

Congratulations Patterson!! Thanks for all you’ve contributed to the King’s Community and to the Admissions team. You’re a rockstar! Happy Graduation! 🙂

Patterson!
The man, the myth, the legend! How will Kong’s ever go on without you?? I am so incredibly thankful to have gotten to know you during our trip to Italy. I don’t know that I’ve ever met another person with your unique mix of lightheartedness and wisdom. It Is such a talent to be able to seamlessly tie in a Vine reference into a discussion about the values of art. You have the greatest sense of humour and the kindest heart, you are so steadfast in your faith, and your commitment to King’s and its mission is unparalleled (which no one will ever forget once I finish that bust of you to put in the lobby 😉 ) Congratulations!! Wishing you the greatest success and happiness!!

Hey Patterson! Remember that time I talked you into doing sound for the hardest show in theater history to ever do sound for, and I said it wouldn’t be that stressful? Lol! Thanks for bearing with me and choosing to see the larger lesson that the Lord was blessing you with in all of the challenging moments of that experience. I’m sure you *also* remember the time the Tony-award winning original sound designer of said show met with you for coffee and came to see your work. I’m grateful for the Lord’s redemption and character building. I give you mad props for accomplishing what you did, and still appreciating the lessons learned (and not hating me for it). I also loved having you play the bass so excellently for the premiere of my original song cycle. You are truly a man not only of talent and intelligence, but character. Have an awesome life. I hope I get to see you again!

Patterson! You have brought so much spunk to this school. Thanks for all the fun times and voice impressions on Henry Street! You’re going to CRUSH post-grad life!

Patterson, I will never forget when we first met. We were bonding over being from the South and then you pulled out your phone and started video-journaling. What a time! You’ve been a genuine friend throughout all these years. Your leadership and kindness will echo in the hallways and fishbowl for years to come. Truly, you made King’s a better place.

So happy for you and Erin as you two embark this new life together! I know you will do huge things and be so successful in the rest of your life and career. Let’s stay in touch!!

You are one talented guy, Patterson! We are losing such a great one. I hope you find many blessings on the road ahead. You deserve it! You will be missed!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

You really lit up the school, Patterson. Every interaction I had with you made my day! You are charismatic, talented, and kind, and I know you’ll succeed wherever you go. This might sound strange, but I think that you embody the best of King’s. You’ve blessed a lot of people at our school. Wishing you all my best, and I hope I’ll get to see you again soon!

Patterson,
Thanks for your great attitude in Ent Journalism class and in general. I wish you all the best in life and career and in faith as you go forward. “Oh Lord, teach us to number our days so that we may present to you, a heart of wisdom.” – Psalm 90:12. Best Wishes, Prof. Glader

Patterson,

From Random Theme to any performing or video arts competition, I always appreciated your passion for the House of Lewis and I am proud to call you my brother. One of my favorite memories from my time at King’s was the 24-hr. comp last year, running with my flag in front of the Irish memorial and trying to get these shots of guys holding lit matches in a light rain and a heavy breeze. At the time, I was more than a little frustrated with you – come hell or high water, you insisted we get the shot and get it right, even though we were cold and tired. But boy, did your perfection and passionate drive pay off. Mad respect for you dude. Best of luck post-King’s.

Eddie VanZandt

Patterson, It’s been a joy to get to know you and be in classes together! Your enthusiasm for life is always inspiring and I am glad to have had someone to discuss the stress of entertainment internships with. Wishing all the best for you and Erin and for what the Lord has next!

Lewis Brother. I love you. Don’t be a stranger. You’ve shaped my King’s experience in ways you’ll never know. I can’t thank you enough.

WOW, hard to follow up on THESE ^^^^^^!!!

That being said ~ so excited for you! I know you’ve been living the whole GraduMaCated life already for quite some time, but I really cannot wait to see where you end up.

So glad we got to be friends over our insanely long tenure in admissions, as roommates, and (of course) as Housemates. “ApE tOgEtHeR sTrOnG,” or whatever those guys used to chant at competitions. Can’t believe we’ve known each other for almost four years now, that’s crazy!! Thank you for your curiosity, and taking in interest in such foolish things as my RIDICULOUS taste in music…especially that summer we lived together. hahaha.

Cannot wait to see you again once this awful terrible time has past! And please give my regards to Erin, hope you BOTH are weathering these storms well. <3

Patterson,
I’m so very proud of you. You are so full of life, joy, enthusiasm and you are a complete joy to be around. You have accomplished so much thus far and much more to come.
You are loved dearly by us, the Ingenito’s, and all who are privileged to know you.
Go do great things!
May God continue to bless you.
Love
Angie, Joey and Michael

Patterson! Congrats on all your hard work. You bring such joy to our community and are so so hilarious. I love your passion for life and your love for community. I still remember when we all went ice skating upstate and it was SO fun. Tanner went too! It was a blast. Nothing but the best to you.

Patterson! We go WAY back since freshman year in College Writing! You always had some great contributions and I remember when you would tell me how great my writing and comments were after class. You are such an amazing person and I know that God will guide you on the path to greatness!

Patterson, I hope you know how much I respect and admire the man of God that you are. I cannot thank you enough for being such an encouraging and uplifting friend and roommate to me these past years. It is crazy to think about how fast time has passed since that first year in 2013. I am so happy and excited for you and Erin, and I can’t wait to celebrate with y’all in the years to come :).

PATTY. You are the real deal, my friend. I was so touched by how you immediately introduced yourself to me during the fall student worker meeting two years ago. Your kindness, warmth and intentionality were (and continue to be!) such gifts to me. I’ll never forget how you shadowed one of my student calls when I first started and offered such helpful insight into the world of King’s admissions. I always enjoyed our many conversations and think of you as such a kindred spirit. Cheers to you, graduate! The Lord has such wonderful plans for your life. Stay the course.

Patterson, I still remember when you called me after I committed to King’s and talked with me about it for an hour! You made this shy then-freshman feel so welcome and at home, and I’m so glad I got to graduate with you! I can’t wait to see where God leads you, and know that everyone who knows you will be blessed by your enthusiasm, kindness, and excellence.

Congratulations, Patterson! You light up any room you walk in, and I’m so excited to see where life takes you!

Dear Patterson,

I have been encouraged, impressed, and blessed by you during your time at King’s. Thank you! May you know all of God’s richest blessings in Christ.

Patterson, From being my student admissions counselor (!) to galavanting around Italy with me, my King’s experience has truly been shaped by your presence. You are a joy to be around and I always love hearing your thoughts and insights. King’s is better because of you.

Patty Cake! One of the most lovable people I have ever met. Being housemates has been such a pleasure and blessing in my life. You have taught me so much in my life just from watching you be you. Patterson never stop being you and always preserver to just keep on loving. Please keep in touch!
